Find a 4x4 Ambulance. Build a Mobile Studio. Chase the Journey.
I'm on the hunt for a decommissioned 4x4 diesel ambulance to convert into a self-reliant mobile studio — working from the road, documenting the build, and growing in faith, fitness, and adventure alongside my husky-shepherd mix, River. The journey starts around the Great Lakes and Michigan, the Ozarks between Arkansas and Missouri, and Atlanta out into North Georgia — then spreads out as the travels grow.
The Rig & the Wilderness
One is being built. The other is being chased. Both are the journey — documented here, on the blog, and across every social channel.

The Overland Rig
The Ambulance Build
The plan: find a decommissioned 4x4 diesel ambulance and engineer it into a self-reliant mobile studio — off-grid power, hydronic heat, Starlink workstations, and a build documented front to back with River as co-pilot.

The Expeditions
Wilderness & Field Reports
Canoe trips through the Great Lakes, backcountry hiking across the Ozarks, and ridge runs out of North Georgia — the wilderness adventures the rig is being built to chase, with more regions rolling in as the route spreads.
Have a Decommissioned Ambulance You'd Sell — or Want to Be Part of the Build?
I'm actively looking for the right 4x4 diesel ambulance. If you have one for sale — or you want to follow along, sponsor the build, or collaborate on the journey — reach out. Every lead and every supporter moves this project forward.
The journey starts around the Great Lakes & Michigan, the Ozarks between Arkansas and Missouri, and Atlanta out into North Georgia — then spreads out as the travels grow. The rig is the hunt, the expeditions are the field work, and River sets the pace on every trail.
